Jedi Knight Maps
|
Back in 2002 and early 2003, one of my favourite games was Jedi Knight. This led me
to decide to make some maps and mods which turned out to be fairly popular.
The maps I released are listed in order of creation. If you are still playing Jedi Knight 2 or 3
and decide to try these out or if you have played them previously, please
let me know what you think. Also, if you
know of any other reviews or locations where my maps are available, please let me know so
I can add them to this page.
House of Madness
This is the first my that I made for Jedi Knight 2 and has received more than
13000 downloads from the 2 sites listed below.
You will probably feel that it consists of mostly
random effects and environments. The idea was to try to learn many different techniques for map editing
and I ended up putting most of them in the same map. The final boss is a woman (Tavion) who
will be familiar to those who have played the game. I had not yet figured out how to end the
map automatically so you will still be free to move around.
Emperor's Villa
This is the second map that I made for Jedi Knight 2 and has received over 23000 downloads
from the 3 sites listed below.
This map is significantly better than the first as I had learnt how to implement various scripts for
triggers and AI. The map is also a lot larger and requires the player to defeat a number of royal
bodyguards. Once again I had not found out how to automatically end a level but the end of the map is signified
by locking the player into position after killing the final bodyguard.
Emperor's Courthouse
This is the third map that I made for Jedi Knight 2 and has received over 11000 downloads
from the 2 sites listed below.
By this time, I had worked out many of the ins and outs of map editing and scripting. This map
introduces cinematics and other techniques such as jumppads and more curved surfaces. Finally, I had learnt
how to end the map automatically, so you should be able to tell once you have completed the level.
Emperor's Deathstar
This is the fourth map that I made for Jedi Knight 2 and has received over 10000 downloads
from the single site listed below.
I was very happy with how this map turned out. It still remains to be one of my most popular maps.
This map contains a number of cinematics, special attributes given to characters, better AI scripting
and many other surprises.
Geonosian Battle Arena
This is the fifth and final map that I made for Jedi Knight 2 and has received over 26000 downloads
from the single site listed below. The original map design was done by ShadyZ which I then optimised
for optimal gameplay. He also created the dropship model which can be seen in the map. This is undoubtedly
the most popular of all my maps, most likely due to the fact that it is modelled after a scene from the movie.
This map contains most techniques used in previous maps. If you are looking for a great battle to test your
wits, here it is.
Zeus Academy Ladder
This is the one and only map that I made for Jedi Knight 3 and has received over 21000 downloads
from the 3 sites listed below.
I was getting numerous requests to make a single player map for Jedi Knight 3 as none existed. I therefore
decided to make a ladder type map where you continued to fight enemies of increasing difficulty. This is definitely
a level to test your Jedi Skills.
