Google Earth

"Google has launched Keyhole 3, rebranded Google Earth, and are dumping the subscription rate (except for a $20/year "plus" versions with prettier pictures) available soon at earth.google.com. The program lets you fly around a 3D globe, with overhead satellite photos, tilted 45-degree photos, 3D rendered buildings, and overlays that display everything from roads to hotels to bike routes."

Knoppix 4.0 DVD

Quake Mobile Info Emerges

SDL.NET Released

Alternative to GPS

On Monday Skyhook Wireless announced the commercial availability of its Wi-Fi Positioning System, or WPS. The software, which is now available to application developers and device manufacturers, uses 802.11 radio signals emitted from wireless routers to determine the precise location of any Wi-Fi enabled device, whether it be a PC, laptop, PDA, Tablet PC, smart phone or RFID tag.

Symbian Joins Futuremark\'s Smartphone Benchmark Development Program

\"The Futuremark Corporation, a leading provider of performance-analysis software and services, announced today that Symbian is joining its handheld benchmark development program. In addition, Symbian is licensing source codes for Futuremark\'s current SPMark04 product and two forthcoming handheld benchmark products.\"

New NVIDIA Melody Released

NVIDIA have just released a new version of NVIDIA Melody. \"NVIDIA Melody creates high quality normal maps that make a low-poly model look like a high-poly model. The normal map generator can also create texture coordinates from a high-poly reference model using a projection technique.\"

J2ME Game Source Code

Digiment, a mobile phone games developer, has released source code for one of their J2ME games \"Winter Sports\".
